A brief bio 

July 24th 1991: graduated from the Guildhall School Of Music And Drama in London, UK. 
From June 1994 to November 1998, Gio became band member of the Jazz Crusaders, touring with them in Europe, USA, Japan and China. Some of the performances including: North Sea Jazz Festival, Jazz a Vienne, Umbria Jazz, Pori Jazz Festival, Nice Jazz Festival Montreux Jazz Festival, St. Lucie Jazz Festival, Parnu Jazz Festival, the Brecon Jazz Festival and more...

In Los Angeles, Gio recorded guitar in 2 of the Jazz Crusaders albums: Sketches Of Life and Breakn Da Rulz.  

In June 10, 2000 Gio was Awarded by unanimous vote FIRST PRIZE for best soloist at the International Contest of Jazz Soloists held in Monte Carlo, France, then in June 2001 at that contest he was invited as part of the Jury .

Besides working with the Crusaders Gio was also featured Live alongside other well known artists including Patty Austin, Ronnie Laws, Bobby Lyle, Jon Lucien, Bobby Caldwell, Mark Whitfield, Alphonso Johnson, John Beasley, Angela Bofill, Nate Philips, Rob Mullins, Linley Marthe, Mario Canonge, Francis Lassus, David Williams, Lewis Nash, Willie Jones III, Vincent Herring and Hugo Fattoruso.

Invited as special guest by Larry Coryell at a Master Class held in Philadelphia on March 2011. 

Since 2023 Gio has been an innovator of the fingerstyle technique, introducing the fingerpicking up and down, a fingerstyle technique by playing single notes with up and down fingerpicking developed and used by Gio Guido for the first time in the history of the fingerstyle technique.
